CURRUMBIN RSL MURAL, GOLD COAST

ANZAC MURAL
Mike Shankster's ANZAC mural at Currumbin RSL.

OVERVIEW

The ANZAC, or Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, played a crucial role in shaping the history of both nations. These soldiers fought bravely in some of the bloodiest battles of World War I and II, making sacrifices for the safety and freedom of their countries.

The Lest We Forget mural was created as a tribute to these brave soldiers and to commemorate their sacrifice. The red poppies symbolise the loss of life and the emotional toll of war on those who served. The veteran’s hand holding the poppies represents the respect and gratitude we have for their service.

It is important to remember the ANZAC because their sacrifices and bravery helped shape our nations and secure the freedoms we enjoy today. We must not forget the hardships they endured and the lives they gave in the name of their countries. By remembering the ANZAC, we ensure that their legacy lives on and inspire future generations to continue their legacy of courage and sacrifice. In conclusion, the Lest We Forget mural serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by the ANZAC and the importance of remembering their legacy. The artwork will continue to inspire and educate generations to come and is a fitting tribute to those who served. Mural painted by Australian street artist Mike Shankster.
