ARMADA X OYUKI

KODAMA ARV JJ - COLLABORATION

BRIEF

Working closely with the team at Oyuki, I was given a Kodama theme as the foundation for this graphic. From there, the focus shifted to designing a composition that visually translates on a pair of skis. Skis are a tricky format to work with, given the amount of “dead space” between the bindings, so the artwork has to hold its weight both as a full piece and on the snow.

OUTCOME

A minimalistic layout that carries the Kodama narrative and showcases Oyuki’s brand story. The design balances simplicity with character, making it appealing to a wide audience.

From a lifetime of making Art, Mike’s skill set is broad as is his range of creative influences. His driving passion for creating stemmed from an early love of comic books and cartoons and later developed to the influences of action sports, urban and rural landscapes, people and wildlife, concrete and culture.
